Contents Insurance covers the cost of damage to, or loss of, an individual’s personal possessions while located within the individual’s home but in some cases can also provide cover for personal possessions temporarily taken away from the home by the policyholder.

Contents Insurance covers the cost of damage to, or loss of, an individual’s personal possessions while located within the individual’s home due to fire, theft (or attempted theft), vandalism, storms, flooding, leaking water or oil etc. and in some cases can also provide cover for personal possessions temporarily taken away from the home by the policyholder.

Contents insurance also usually covers:
– Your legal liability as occupier of the house, e.g. if a visitor has an accident and injures themselves
– Cost of accommodation and storage if you can’t live in your home because of damage e.g. fire, flooding
– Replacement keys and locks and locksmith’s fees if you lose or damage your keys
– Accidental damage to TV’s stereo equipment, computers DVD players etc
– Loss of food if freezer breaks down
– Theft of cash from your home
– Contents of your outbuildings
